Corbit works on teams with educators and design professionals on a variety of digital media projects. The current focus is on developing accessible, engaging, and structured experiences and spaces in collaboration with active educators.

VieW Community

  • Virtual Worlds in Education (VieW)
    VieW programs focus on nurturing the adoption of the medium of virtual worlds for cross generational and cross institutional project-based learning in virtual worlds in New York State. VieW workshops introduce educators to the medium and consider practical ways to integrate it into curriculum and supplemental programs.

Development and Design Activities

  • Virtual Hall of Science
    The New York Hall of Science has been awarded an NSF ITEST grant to integrate the SciFair Model into the Museum's Science Career Ladder Explainers program.
  • NASA Virtual Exploration Sustainability Challenge
    VESC is a Modeling and Simulation (MODSIM) Challenge sponsored by NASA and the National Institute of Aerospace (NIA).
  • DaVinci and Phoenix Worlds
    Students at the Virginia Beach Rennaissance Academy are learning to express themselves through the medium of virtual worlds. This project is a partnership of Virginia Beach City School District and the NIA.
  • The Pathogen Tracker Game
    The Pathogentracker Game features the work of Dr. Martin Wiedmann's Food Science Lab at Cornell University. It introduces students to the use of an online epidemiology IT resource in a structured framework. FDA has sponsored completion of the teacher materials and refinement of the site through the Graduate School in Washington, DC.
